My first big scene! This project was done for the CGMA Creating Stylized Game Assets class with Ashleigh Warner.
For this piece I did a few rough sketches in Photoshop. This is loosely based on the Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld Persephone. I wanted to focus on the contrast between life & death through the flowers, foliage and skulls. I did a quick block-out in Maya and painted on top of that in Photoshop to finalize my concept. I did two color passes to decide on the mood for my piece, as well. After getting feedback on the totems that sit beside the focal point, I finished modeling and unwrapping the UVs for each asset in Maya before bringing them in to 3DCoat. The textures were painted using 3DCoat and Photoshop. Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 3.
